The swinging sounds of the Continentals will put you “in the mood” to celebrate Jazz Appreciation Month. For more than 50 years, this local orchestra has entertained audiences with classic tunes of the big band era (1920s-1940s). The April 18 performance will feature music that was popular in the 1930s, such as “Pennies From Heaven.” Enjoy the music at the North Carolina Museum of History from 3 – 4pm which complements the exhibit In Search of a New Deal: Images of North Carolina, 1935-1941.
