Abyssinia

2109 Avent Ferry Rd., Raleigh, NC, 27606
(919) 664-8151

News & Observer food critic Greg Cox says: Travel posters, native costumes tacked to the walls, a few traditional basket-shaped tables ñ Abyssinia's décor is modest compared to that of Blue Nile, the Triangle's other Ethiopian restaurant. So is the menu, which consists of only nine meat and three vegetarian listings (and no appetizers). But the quality of the food makes a visit worthwhile. Yebeg watt (spicy lamb stew) is especially recommended, as are special tibbs (beef, onions, peppers and tomatoes sautéed in mildly seasoned butter) and the vegetarian combination.
