Willem was educated and trained in the Netherlands as a Physical Therapist. In 1986 he came to the U.S. with his family and became a Licensed Physical Therapist. His career found him working in a hospital in Bloomington, IL for three years and then at Cape Fear Memorial Hospital in Wilmington, NC for another five years. Willem also worked in private practices and nursing homes before finally starting his own practice in 1998. He moved into his current location in 2005 and shares the office space with a Massage Therapist, Counselor and his wife, E. Francisca Dekker, an artist whose colorful and vibrant work adorns the office waiting area. In 2007, Willem became a BodyTalk Practitioner after much study and application.
