A slide presentation on modern day Tanzania that is sponsored by Sister Cities Association of Wilmington (SCAW) will be given by local resident Gloria Powell Monroe to commemorate the historic meeting some 140 years ago of Scottish explorer and missionary Dr. David Livingston and American journalist Henry Morton Stanley in Central Africa near Lake Tanganhyika, part of present day Tanzania. Following the talk, audience members are invited to join Ms. Monroe and members of SCAW for dinner at Caffe Phoenix.
